3 girls, 1 pattern: The Sophia Dress

We’re in a Sophia induced frenzy and we’re not looking for the cure.

In case you hadn't heard us screaming from the rooftops with excitement, our new BFF the Sophia Dress has landed and we're so happy to share her with you! We literally CANNOT (and will not) stop going on about the lady you guys picked to join the gang and, if you haven’t already, we implore you to go ahead and get your copy so you too can know what true love feels like (we hope!). As one of our most versatile patterns yet, we are back with the Sophia edition of 3 girls 1 pattern to show you our favourite ways to wear her.

Here’s some we made earlier...

Red or pink? We’re not sure (don’t start that again) but we are sure that it’s almost luminescent and, with a little flash of tiger print for good measure, we’re sure that this is one helluva party dress. There is no doubt that this stand-out Sophia is what Cruella Deville would be wearing on a jolly to the Indian Tropics but with a hearty dash of Charlotte’s childhood style icon Miss Hilary Banks.

Continuing the Disney theme, Elisalex pairs playful polka dots with milkshake pink for this swishalicious variation. A bold pattern and colour choice plus godets for days, this is certainly a number undoubtable fashion crush Minnie Mouse would die to get her little rodent paws on, only less original flapper girl and more 1950’s Riviera chic.

Psst….Check out those immaculate godets - want in? Here’s a tutorial to help!

I know what you’re thinking, "This is unusually demure for someone with aspirations of being in her very own hip-hop video" but DON’T WORRY GUYS. It’s scuba fabric. Having resisted the urge to lengthen that front split to show an offensive amount of thigh, my LBD with a touch of off-duty underwater dominatrix proves that not only will Sophia take you from day to night but also land to sea. Handy.

I mean, you should probably go and get your Sophia now...

Thanks Elisalex, that really helps! Now off to find my contrast fabric in the perfect shade of green to match the white cotton with green asian fans all over it to make me a Sophia :)

Hi Anja, thanks!! To make the godets in a contrast fabric, we figured that you’d need about 2m of a 60" width fabric to be safe. Hope this helps!

I LOVE these dresses! Could you give me any tips on the amount of contrasting fabric I’d need if i wanted to make the godet version like this one? Thanks!
