Ladies we love #4: Flora

Ladies we love Flora 5

Flora, this aptly named English rose, lives down the road from By Hand London HQ in Hackney and so invited us over for steak, chips, bourbon (ouch) and a rummage through her RAILS of dresses. Her job in advertising could suggest we have here a totally 21st century kinda gal, but, that would be overlooking her vast vintage wardrobe and that the only way to play music at hers is on a record player. Luckily for us, she had Crazy In Love - Beyonce to hand (ten points). While we were there rummaging, we also decided to ask her a few questions, to find out a little of what makes this London girl tick:

My favourite place in the world is...

The bath. Preferably on Sunday morning with tea and newspaper supplements.

On my bedside table you'll find...

A pile of books - a mixture of old favorites and new ones.

If you wanna take me out, take me...

For pizza, wine and then dancing.

I cure my Sunday hangover with brunch at...

The Dalston Lane cafe for sausages, avocado and halloumi.

In five years I want to be...

Still having adventures. But with a bigger house.

Shhhh! Don't tell anyone, but I still don't know...

How to poach an egg.

I picked this number up three years ago from a market in Mexico.

I got this at Alice + Olivia

I bought this figure-hugging black one (complete with multi-coloured gemstones) in a vintage store in New York on New Year's eve a few years ago.

This pink silk dress is from an antiques shop in Cranbrook, Kent, near where my mum is from. It was made by a girl from the town in the 50's for a party and her daughter had then sold it to the antique shop.

The dress in the top picture is Vivienne Westwood and was a present from my mum to wear at the picnic we had on the beach, the day after my sister's wedding.

Thanks for having us Flora!
