In a bid to take a load off last week and start planning some more fun DIYs and tutorials for this here blog, we found ourselves thinking more about about stews and winter cocktails and hibernation than fabric paints and glue guns... Needless to say, we indulged the urge and headed straight for the drinks cabinet to see what concoction we could dream up...
We always have a tub of sweet chestnut spread in the fridge when this time of year comes around - if you've never tried it you absolutely must - its smooth Autumnal nuttiness is just so delicious slathered on just about anything, but I'd never thought to make it into a drink. It seems I have been seriously missing out.
To make the cocktail ~ pour hot milk over 1-2 tsp creme de marrons, stir, and add a nice glug of Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey. This drink is just as delicious and warming without the liquor, and for those who go dairy-free, we found rice milk to be a great alternative. Obviously we had to sample a fair few... you know, to "test" the recipe...
In other news, we've been having a great old time planning our BHL Christmas Party (more details to come soon...) and putting together an amazing series of DIY Gift-ables, which we'll be posting soon as we countdown to the Holidays!
