Midweek Martinis

Named after the Norse God, Odin - Thor's Dad no less - Wednesday could be considered pretty significant. But as far as days of the week go, Wednesday seems to get a pretty bum deal. Last weekend already been and gone, next weekend still out of sight, and always left out on those long weekends. So to honor Mr Odin, and make Wednesday a little more special, we thought a batch of Rosewater Martini's were in order. Any excuse to spend a hazy, humid evening with an ice-cold cocktail, really!

You will need:

  • vodka
  • elderflower cordial
  • rosewater
  • soda water
  • ice
  • a mason jar with lid
  • martini glasses

Fill a large mason jar with ice cubes. Pour in: 4 shots of vodka, a generous shot of elderflower and a generous shot of rosewater (all measurements are approximate). Screw the lid on tightly and give it a big old shake! Then, using the lid to hold back the ice, divide the vodka mix equally between the martini glasses.

Top up with soda water and serve with fresh rose petals.
