Measuring
Bust
Circumference around your ribcage at the fullest part of your bust. This is usually nipple height.
Waist
This can be a little confusing because a lot of people don’t actually know where their natural waist is. It is not always the smallest part of your torso if you don’t happen to have an hourglass shape. Your waist is located halfway between the end of your ribs and the top of your hip bones.
Hips
The hip measurement is not literally taken from around your hip bones, rather, the hip measurement indicates the fullest part around your bottom.

THE DRESS
An elegant dress with a fitted princess seamed bodice and box pleated tulip skirt. There are three sleeve variations and the bodice is designed with very little ease to hug the figure and enhance a cinched waist. The sleeveless bodice of Variation 1 is fully lined whilst Variations 2 & 3 are finished with a neckline facing.

Medium-heavy weight wovens are best: upholstery cottons, flannel, shantung silk, taffeta, brocade, jacquard, tweed and wool. For the lining we recommend a 100% cotton lawn. Lighter weight fabrics will benefit from underlining in silk organza or cotton organdy at the skirt.

Elisalex
Lifelong West London girl Elisalex is half Italian, an obsessive maker and proud mama to her beautiful four year old boy. She shamelessly enjoys a touch of the 50s housewife – sewing, baking and romance being just a few of her favourite things. However, don't let that fool you, this girl left a bit of her heart in Nashville a while back and loves nothing more than dancing all night to country music or getting down to some 60s reggae. As much as she loves summer, for this pale beauty nothing beats a stormy winter evening with real wood fires and knitting at hand. A firm non believer in the concept of being overdressed, if you spot someone in a ballgown and heels workin' it on the dancefloor of an East London dive bar – well, it's probably our girl.
